The future holds various strategic challenges to any company’s data and technology. As the market environment evolves rapidly and demand for business agility compels company leaders to pick better-integrated data. This increases the challenges for IT executives and their architects.

A capability-based data integration strategy is the cure to all these rising problems. IT executives can make strategic appraisals regarding when to concentrate on using the existing solution more efficiently and when to invest in the deployment of the new platform solutions by mapping what technical capabilities and business will be required.

Here are the four simple steps that your data integration consultants will follow to build a successful capability-based strategy for you.

Determine Business Needs

IT teams are good at responding to the stated requirements of the users and observing technological trends. But, they struggle when it comes to anticipating how brand’s capability requirements will evolve in upcoming years.

Business-centric mindset development where technical experts team up with business leaders to process how business operations work and how they should evolve is a-must to establish. This way, you can also proactively avoid any business crisis that obstructs operational productivity.

Assess your Current Capabilities

Never make a mistake to assume that you know the technical capabilities throughout the company. In most of the companies, the IT systems are fragmented and buried or in other cases, they are just replicated across the business functions. Before you begin purchasing the new system, assess your current piece and parts for future potential. During this consider, how your operation and business teams are utilizing the capabilities you’ve deployed in the history.

What Capabilities are required to address your Business Necessities?

After understanding your business needs and the residing components in your enterprise’s environment, next, you have to connect the two. The best way to do it is to ask “what component do we need to solve this problem?” You will discover that the question is framed around the technology. The capability-based strategy is the key to solving the problem.

When a capability-based integration strategy is initiated, it’s necessary to focus on concrete business problem resolution. You may require better data-access-control policies, scalable methodology, analytics tools or data warehousing, and user training. Your IT professionals play a crucial role at this level by acquiring the knowledge of cutting-edge technology and implementing them to your business.

Ally Investments to Deliver New Capabilities

Once you have successfully understood what components are required to deliver each capability, you may feel overwhelmed at the cost and size of the components on the list. It’s the right time to have a discussion with business leaders about their vision of how the business may change in the future. Be aware of the often-large gap between the level of urgency and the level of importance of an individual capability before you begin with integration. Create a delivery roadmap that includes all the essential capabilities available right before your brand needs them.

These four steps lead the data integration consultants to build a reliable and proactive capacity-based strategy.  Contact ExistBI's data experts today, with services in the US, UK and Europe.

The oracle of Delphi in the Temple of Apollo in Greece is one of the famous tourist attractions in the world. The oracle is dated from the 7th century BC. Before all the predictive analytics consulting and companies, the oracle is probably the very first and possibly the only ‘Prediction Engine’ that has worked effectively for 1100 years and the longer you at the temple, the more parallel with ML came to my mind.

Predictive Analytics Consulting by ExistBI.jpg

How does the Ancient “Predictive Engine” work?

The ritual – Counselors traveled to the oracle and first have to provide information about the content including the nature of their questions, just like the modern data cleansing. Consequently, the oracle gifts were delivered accurately. Possibly, the first version of results as a service that pays for each request. The queries were directed to Pythia – priestess who sat on a tripod inhaling fumes right from a column in the floor of the temple.

The hazes were sent to the priestess into another state of consciousness so that she could use supernatural powers to find the answers to the questions of the counselors.

“Every prediction is uncertain, whether it’s on the basis of rules from machine learning models, dedicated systems, or the oracle of Delphi.”

The Uncertainty of Forecasts

Whether it’s about profit gain, longevity, or anything else, every prediction is uncertain to some extent. The data scientists quantify the vague by calculating confidence periods around the expected value. For this, the scientists use the changeability of the known distribution or results of Monte Carlo replications. With these periods, we can evaluate how broad the spectrum is in which the value can lie.

Dealing with Uncertainty

The oracle of Delphi is known for avoiding false predictions. For example, Croesus, King of Lydia, once was keen to visit the Oracle to see whether he should seek an alliance or attack the Persian Empire. And in answer, he received that the attack isn’t a good idea as it would destruct the entire kingdom. Croesus didn’t understand the ambiguity of the prediction and went into a battle and was defeated by Cyrus – the Persian ruler – the kingdom was his own. That’s how the Oracle was right eventually!

Let’s take another example of today’s life: “the marketing campaign will have sales figures.” A failure can be just as surprising as a sales hit – the prediction would be accurate in both cases. Of course, we can’t do our businesses based on this principle. But, blur in forecast isn’t something new and isn’t a side effect of machine learning. Uncertainties have always lived; only dealing with them was the different.

Transfer of Forecast in Business World

The prophecy of Pythia was not in human language while in her supernatural state of consciousness. It was just sounds and the other priests had to translate these sounds into meaningful dactylic hexameters.

In the same way, predictions generated by machines and software applications must also be translated into human language so that business users can understand it and implement it. This is a crucial step when it comes to decision-making.

Fun Fact

With increasing awareness of Delphi, one Pythia was not sufficient to handle too many requests. So three Pythias were placed above the column where the fog escaped so that multiple requests can be handled and it divided the Prediction Engine workload – the first parallel processing in the history.

Final thoughts

Predictions and humans have been working together to make significant changes in the world for centuries. However, it’s not certain what will happen in the future, but we can take early actions based on predictive analytics consulting services. Contact our team at ExistBI for further details

A huge number of cloud service users are now leveraging services beyond just classic storage, computing and network services. There have been many surveys on why and how Data Warehouse Consulting is better than the cloud.

Unsurprisingly, data velocity and volume have burst their banks; organizations are looking for a more cost-effective and agile solution for data analytics and management strategies in the cloud.

The following facets outline the advantages of an enterprise data warehouse (EDW) and data storage in the cloud.

·         Performance and Scalability

With flexible storage, you don’t have to worry about poor hardware impacting performance. You can perform desired actions to pick the right management tool for a specific job to ensure that the requirements are met. There is a huge array of services available on the cloud with performance tests incorporated within them.

Time Value and Agility

Deploying database and services is as quick as flash. Also, you don’t have to put your huge capital investment on the additional tools for deployment. It’s easy to use the new tools in conjunction with the cloud too. For say, you could experiment with ML, AI and stream data. You could set up a sandbox for self-service BI and a group of users. Besides this, you get an amazing facility to store sensor data for IoT in the cloud as well.

·         Offers New Capabilities and Data Growth

Experimenting is easy in the cloud and handling high volume and velocity data is a piece of cake. You can keep data for as long as you want. Moreover, storing diverse data of different types and sources is also possible. By integrating modern data services and data available on the cloud, you can create a great way to add new data capabilities.

·         Cost Saving

The total cost of cloud-based EDW is lower than on-premises variables like redundancy and disaster recovery are included. There are several added benefits of avoiding the gigantic initial capital expense, the ability to reduce financial risks with trying it before buy it, ability to process large and on-off analytical workload with flexible compute and storage along with a feature to pay for only what is consumed.

·         Modern Architecture

On-demand provision of infrastructure, elastic compute, and global connectivity makes jobs such as federating data, new database, replication and redundancy adversity recovery easier and faster than on-premises. Also, there are more innovations in the cloud than an on-premises data center, which allows you to experiment with new technologies such as AI and serverless functions.

·         Getting Started

One of the biggest reasons for cloud being used so readily is security. The cloud offers perimeter security, cyber security and controlled access by experts who are monitoring and auditing security. Moving your data to the cloud is the perfect time to look again at cloud security architecture and policies.

BI and Data is a great way to get started on the cloud. BI and EDW have a lower risk than moving your transactional structure.

These are all the reasons why you should go for data warehouse consulting experts right now.  ExistBI offer experienced specialists in the USA, UK and Europe.

So, you have decided to hire a Data Lake Services provider – great news! Data Lakes are incredibly valuable. But, it’s helpful not to have over-hyped and unrealistic expectations.

In our current data-driven climate a Data Lake is the obvious choice for your business, but only a well-planned strategy can lead to impactful results. A Data Lake comes with a variety of technologies and costs. Not only do you have to pick the right technology, but you should also ensure they will perform efficiently now and in the future.

Things to Consider:

·         You will require additional data sources to support existing applications.

·         You will want more control accessible to the end-users.

·         You may be required to integrating data from your business data warehouse.

With these challenges ahead, it’s crucial to play safe.

Below are some of the most useful tips that will help you avoid major pitfalls of Data Lake adoption:

Tip #1: Build a Strong Data and Analytics Strategy

Imagine creating a 500-pages data and analytics document, which maps your company’s goals, principles, technology and implementation strategies.

A huge task, isn’t it? Hopefully, you won’t require 500-pages for creating your strategy.

So, what is analytics and data strategy?

A Data Lake is a small part of the ecosystem of ingesting pipelines, ecosystem, data processing technologies, metadata, database, analytics search engine and data access layer. Your data and analytics strategy will cover all these components.

Start with a capacity model. Consider these components as the parts of a car. How each part perfectly fit together and performs their role to make the whole system work.

Once you have a good understanding of the role of each component, you are all ready to create an amazing capability model. All you have to do is just decide the relevant parts.

Tip #2: Choose the Right Technology

Which technology is the best for your data lake creation? Go back to your capability model and find out which part is going to be involved in most of the activities. Then choose your technology according to that.

You must be prepared to answer the following:

·         Does the selected technology meets current and future needs?

·         Will multiple technologies work with each other?

·         Will they work with the existing IT system?

·         How the experts will build your data lake and will integrate it with the data ecosystem?

Once, you have finalized the architecture and the tech stack has been nailed down, you are all set to begin with the development and adoption.

Tip #3: Build an Ongoing Plan

While putting together the plan and technology, don’t forget management and maintenance. Who will keep an eye on Data Lake? Who will ensure that the pipeline feeding doesn’t get choked or malfunctioned? How important governance issues such as security, operations and access control will be handled?

Undoubtedly, cloud-native analytics and data are built for the utmost reliability and redundancy. Some can even eliminate downtime but only virtually. The Data Lake built on such incredible technologies must provide trouble-free applications of all the needed actions.

Storage, pipelines, data engines and access layer components can’t be overlooked. Make sure you have got your support of talented data lake services provider.

Adequate usage of Data Lake can keep your entire ecosystem connected and synchronized.

So, are you ready to establish a perfect Data Lake for your business?  Contact our team of specialist Data Lake consultants based in the United States, United Kingdom and Europe for more detailed advice.

Companies involved with customer services love Salesforce Case Management functionality. But how exactly can a Salesforce consulting partner help with customer service? Well, that’s something we are going to explain in this article. You will get familiar with some common case-related problems and will discover their solutions.

Problem #1. Customer Service Inaccessibility

Malfunctioning product, expected delivery failure, way of speaking, etc. could be the reasons for customer frustration. Resulting in contacting customer services and inevitably being put on hold several times before you get to the person with the right information to solve your issue.

SOLUTION: Salesforce Case Management doesn’t solve this problem. Unexpected, right? However, a part of Salesforce Case Management – Salesforce Service Cloud – offers omni-channel facility. It supports a wide range of channels along with web forms, calls, mobile app chats, web chats, social media (Facebook, Twitter, Sino Weibo, Instagram, Google+), etc. All these are integrated with Salesforce that means you can access all of these features under the single roof. Therefore, no tool switching anymore!

Problem#2. Losing Case Sight or Unknown Solution

Too many customer complaints raise the chances of forgetting one or two complaints between all these. Moreover, in many cases, the executive might not be able to respond to the customer because their problem is out of their area of expertise. This can lead to a complete inability to help your customer.

SOLUTION: These issues can be solved with automatic case assignment feature of Salesforce.

When a case is opened Cloud triggers assignment rules. The case is further sent either to an agent directly or a team of agents. Then, it’s displayed in case queue related to a particular area.

There are certain case assignment parameters which are:

·         Load

·         Technical competencies

·         Case Priority

·         Customer History

·         Hours of working

·         Region

·         Case thread

Problem#3. Low Customer & Agent Satisfaction Due to Incorrect Prioritization

Not handling some cases as a priority can make any call center look unprofessional. There are some cases if they don’t get on the spot assistance and solutions can cause more problems. This shrinks customer and agent satisfaction.

SOLUTION: Setting case priority doesn’t help every time. But can your current tools do this automatically? There’s an automatic case priority feature in Salesforce cloud-based on

various criteria. It will help you to choose – case severity, case type, customer importance, customer sentiment, etc.

Problem#4. Taking Too much time to Resolve a Case

Customers want solutions quickly. And the fact that the agent is spending more time talking and less time resolving doesn’t amuse them. There could be any reason behind slow delivery of solution: lack of agent responsibility, agent overload, absence of priority, etc. But even if the case load is moderate and the agent is still not able to resolve the problem might have something to do with case escalation mechanism.

SOLUTION: With Salesforce, if an agent has failed to close a case, an automatic case escalation mechanism will be triggered. This indicates assigning high priority and reassigning of the cases. The true reason behind Salesforce escalation is that most of the

agents are interested in meeting deadlines as it impacts their overall performance and keeping a track of time is crucial. Salesforce does it all automatically.

To put it briefly, your Salesforce consulting partner can provide promising potential tools for solving case management related problems. If you too want the solution to your customer-related problems and provide them swift case resolution, Salesforce is the place to start.  Contact Salesforce consulting partner's ExistBI for support today.

Do you ever wonder what happens in Tableau Server when a user loads visualization? Do you wish you could compare user activities to Tableau Server’s optimizing process configuration? We have a dashboard that will help you to master Server Process expert during your tableau training classes.

What’s under the Hood of Tableau Server Processes?

Before becoming a Tableau Server expert, it’s imperative to have a clear understanding of what exactly it is. Tableau Server’s capacity to install and configure even the complex applications easily is pretty impressive.  As you will dive deeper into the product, you will realize that although configuration can be simple, it can also be optimized in countless ways and it could be difficult to know what is best for your working environment.

For better understanding, let’s take an example of publishing a workbook using live connections.

Step 1: Choose a Workflow: Authenticate with local, Authenticate with AD, Access a view, Publish workbook, send subscription, Web Edit new workbook, etc

Step 2: Choose a Data Source: Live Connection or Extract

Step 3: Observe Workflow

At each step, you will get a description of everything that is happening at every stage.

Run Better Server Environment for your Organization

When you know each process is properly utilized and will help you to optimize the Tableau Server for your particular business need.

For example, knowing that the background will only interact with some other processes is the one reason to configure isolated background nodes in the environment with many extract refreshes.

Some other examples of the configuration are:

-          VizQL (a query issued to data sources) receives a request from Application Server so that the requests have a chance to be fulfilled at that node, almost always.

-          In any action that is initiated by the user involves a gateway and that further will pass the request to the Application Server all the time. Therefore, every request has to pass through the gateway in order to give each request a chance to be accomplished on the same node.

-          In every workflow, Repository will be accessed and that too by various different processes. As there can be only one active reporting Repository, trying to co-locate the repository with other processes is not at all helpful. Instead, resource conflicts with other processes can be avoided via an isolated repository. Besides, it can augment the total throughput for the Tableau server as well.

Of course, even the best product can occasionally show glitches, but Tableau Server is capable of locating the issues. By using this crucial skill of this server, you can trace an action across each process that enables you to take on the spot actions.

While working with Tableau Server, you will learn that the Data server is accessed only during requests are sent to the published data sources. In case you are using embedded data sources (it’s not possible to publish the data source separately from the workbook), Data Server will be used, even if the connection is live and visible.

You don’t need to check Data Server log if you are looking for a connection to set in the data source.

Now that you have known about the Sever, get ready to implement this information during your Tableau training classes in UK
